Indian Lemongrass tea for common cold
This tea is one of those things that I give my kids when they have a bad cold. They actually love it. It is just one of those home remedies which works for us. Please use your own discretion in deciding if you want to do it or not 🙂
This is my own recipe. I just basically use all the ingredients that help relieve cold and congestion and make a tea out of it.
This is what the ingredients look like.
So starting from the top left, I take a handful of dried Indian lemongrass since that is all that I have but you may use fresh leaves as well. Add about 1.5 tbpsn of fennel seeds, followed by a peppercorn and clove, about a teaspoon of sugar candy, a small piece of ginger and 1/4th tspn of dried organic tulsi green tea powder. I mix all of these in a pot, add about 5 cups of water and let it come to a boil and then simmer the tea for about 5 minutes. Switch off the gas. Let stand covered for 10 minutes. Strain and serve warm to hot, about 3 times a day. We usually repeat this process for 2-3 days.
